Twelve A&S Students and Alumni Win 2025-26 Fulbright Awards
The University of Virginia has again been recognized as a top producer of Fulbright U.S. Student Program awardees, with 20 students and recent alumni awarded scholarships to teach, study or conduct research around the world for the 2025–26 academic year. Twelve of this year’s recipients are current and recent graduates of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, underscoring the global engagement and scholarly excellence that are hallmarks of the Arts & Sciences community.
“These Fulbright recipients represent the very best of UVA’s commitment to cross-cultural understanding and intellectual curiosity,” said Andrus Ashoo, director of the Office of Citizen Scholar Development. “Arts & Sciences students’ wide-ranging academic preparation and world languages background make them outstanding cultural ambassadors abroad.”
The Fulbright Program, established in 1946, is the U.S. government’s flagship international academic exchange program. It provides opportunities for Americans to study, teach or conduct research in countries across the world and is highly competitive.
